The Emotional Freedom Technique or EFT, is an emotional release technique used to improve one’s physical and emotional well-being. The technique is based on balancing the energy meridians used in acupuncture and acupressure from Traditional Chinese Medicine. The technique involves tapping on a series of these meridian points while verbally stating how we are feeling followed by restructuring our feelings and reciting positive affirmations. The verbal statements work to “short-circuit” the emotional block with the intention restoring mind/body balance.
